Sorry, Joel: Amazon Renews ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ for Season 3
It appears our favorite unapologetic housewife is getting even more airtime. (And, no, we’re not talking about Ali Wong.)
Amazon just announced that it renewed The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for a third season, according to Variety. Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, confirmed the news after series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls) teased the announcement during her acceptance speech at the 2018 Peabody Awards.
She said, “You’re going to give it to us because we’re bringing home the fancy thing, right?”
As Midge famously says, This is it, huh? This is the dream a season three renewal? Well, Amazon announced season two way back in April 2017 because, well, the first season was so damn spectacular. (If you watched, you know.)
Although the network didn’t reveal any further details about the third season, we do know Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) and Susie (Alex Borstein) will take their stand-up acts on the road in the show’s sophomore run. So prepare to say “ta-ta” to the Gaslight and “hello” to the comedy scene in—drumroll, please—Paris.
Season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is expected to premiere on Amazon later this year. You had us at more Midge Maisel.
