I like big bass and I cannot lie — which is why I'm excited about Amazon's Sony Extra Bass speaker sale. Not only do these portable wireless speakers bring more thump than most, they're available in time for Christmas — provided you order soon, of course.
What's more, while some of these discounts represent all-time lows, your net price can get even lower if you take advantage of one simple trick.

First I'll talk about the trick, then circle back to the speakers themselves. As you may know, the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa card is usually good for 5 percent back on Amazon purchases. With this sale, however, you can actually get 15 percent back when you pay with that card.
So, for example, the Sony SRS-XB33 Extra Bass is on sale for $118 (save $32), tying its all-time low. But if you use the Prime Rewards Visa, you'll save another 15 percent, bringing your net cost down to about $100.
For any Amazon Prime subscriber who doesn't already have this Visa, the news gets even better: You can get a $150 Amazon gift card instantly upon approval. With that in (virtual) hand, you could actually walk away with one of these speakers for free. (I know: sounds too good to be true. It isn't!)
As for the speakers themselves, there are four different models available, most of them in a variety of colors. They're all waterproof, meaning they're safe for pools, beaches and even showers, and they can all pair with at least one additional speaker for true stereo sound. Battery life ranges from 12-24 hours, depending on the model.
I haven't tested any of them myself, but the average user ratings are overwhelmingly positive: anywhere from 4.5 to 4.7 stars from thousands of buyers.
Needless to say, these would make great gifts. Prime subscribers can get them in just a day or two, but if you don't have Prime, you may still be able to get delivery before Christmas.
