Someone Lit the Black Flame Candle Because 'Hocus Pocus' 2 Is Happening
Hocus Pocus first hit theaters in 1993.
Now, nearly 30 years later and after much speculation, the Hocus Pocus sequel is officially confirmed.
Here's everything you need to know about how to watch the new film!
Someone must have lit the black flame candle because, in what’s possibly the best news to come of 2021, the Sanderson Sisters are officially back with Hocus Pocus 2. After nearly three decades of wishing for a Hocus Pocus sequel, Disney announced that the rumors are in fact true: The Sanderson sisters will make their grand return in 2022.
Since that date is farther away than we'd like, we’re here to help tide you over. Ahead, uncover everything there is to know (so far) about the Hocus Pocus sequel.
Who is returning for Hocus Pocus 2?
Luckily for us, all three Sanderson sisters — Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy — have confirmed their roles for the Hocus Pocus sequel.
As excited as we are, we’re not all that shocked considering our three favorite witches got together in 2020 for a one-night-only appearance for a New York Restoration Project charity benefit.
As of right now, there are no other original cast confirmations for the sequel, however, given Billy (played by Doug Jones) joined the sisters for their one-night show back in 2020, there’s a good chance he’ll return for the sequel, too.
When is the Hocus Pocus 2 coming out?
As much as we wish we could mark our calendars for Halloween this year, Hocus Pocus 2 isn’t set to debut until Fall 2022. But for a movie we’ve been begging for a sequel to? It’s sure to be worth the wait.
How can you watch and stream Hocus Pocus 2?
Disney announced the film will stream exclusively on Disney+, meaning you won't be able to watch it in theaters.
Coming exclusively to @DisneyPlus is Hocus Pocus 2, the spooky sequel to the 1993 Halloween classic! @AdamMShankman is set to direct.
