Smirnoff Will Pay You To Take Off 4th Of July Week
Fourth of July falls on a Wednesday this year, and while that means hump day is going to be more exciting than usual, it also makes planning a vacation pretty difficult. Do you take off work the two days leading up to the holiday? Or the Thursday/Friday after and make it a super long weekend post-July 4th? For 100 lucky people, Smirnoff has a solution.
The vodka brand, which recently launched the most festive Red White and Berry Ice drinks, is paying dozens of people to take off July 5 and 6. Starting Sunday, you can enter by commenting on Smirnoff's Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram contest post where you'd rather be than back at the office. Winners are selected randomly, and each person gets $500, no strings attached. The only stipulation - you have to be over 21.
"I think we can all agree that Wednesday isn’t enough time to celebrate America’s birthday," Smirnoff Ice Brand Director Krista Kiisk said about the contest. "Who wants to head back to work and do work things when you could be on a beach, on a boat or on a mountain celebrating the good ole US of A?"
The contest goes live Sunday and is open through July 1. Obviously, you still have to clear the holiday with your boss, but in case you can't get paid time off, Smirnoff has you covered.
