Six Flags Wants to Bury Couples Alive in Exchange for a Cash Prize
Looking for an unconventional way to spend some quality time with your significant other? How does 30 hours in a shared coffin with no access to the internet sound?
Six Flags America is looking for couples who are willing to be buried alive together, from September 27 to September 28, at its park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Couples who last all the way to the end of the Fright Fest 30-Hour Couples Coffin Challenge will be rewarded with $600 in cash, full access to the park's Halloween celebrations, and a pair of gold season passes for 2020.
Participants in the challenge will, of course, be allowed short breaks from the coffin to eat and go to the bathroom, but anybody who leaves the coffin outside of these breaks will be immediately disqualified from the competition.
"That doesn't sound so hard," you might be saying right now. "I spend most weekends with my partner anyway."
But there's a catch: not only will you be in incredibly close quarters the entire time, but you'll also have all of your devices confiscated before being interred. That means no texting, no news, no TV, social media, no music or podcasts... you won't even be able to check how much time has gone by, as your watch will be removed too.
Oh, and you'll also be subjected to all kinds of spooky atmospheric chicanery from the park, including "fog, dramatic lighting, flash photography and extreme weather conditions" designed to freak you both out and send you running. Only couples who can endure all of this will be in with a chance of winning the cash prize.
