These Silk Scrunchies Are My Perfect Plane Hair Secret and I’m Not Ashamed
The thing about having really long hair is that it’s incredibly annoying. Sure, I love the way it looks, but I do not love having to fight with it whenever I do so much as put on a jacket, shoulder a heavy purse, or honestly just live my life — all things that require gathering up my mile-long tresses and making sure they don't get snagged.
So hair ties: They're life-savers.

Except the thing about hair ties is that they too are incredibly annoying. That ponytail indent they leave in your hair after having it tied up all day is not cute. And don’t get me started on all the snagging and pulling and breaking it does to my ever-so-delicate hair. So what’s a girl to do? (Hint: The answer is to get herself some silk scrunchies; I’m not kidding.)
To buy: bloomingdales.com, $39
I feel the hair distress most when I’m traveling (I feel any kind of distress the most when I’m traveling — maybe this is normal), so these scrunchies came in handy on a recent plane ride, and honestly, what have I been doing with my life before them? I’m talking about Slip for Beauty Sleep’s Slipsilk Scrunchies.

Sure, $39 for a box of three isn’t exactly cheap, but I’d use the phrase “worth it” considering all the perks. An obvious one being no more tangles and snags. Another being that the mulberry silk doesn’t strip my hair of moisture, which really helps with the whole Pantene hair commercial-worthy tresses goal I’ve been working so hard on. Plus, they’re really cute, very ‘90s "Clueless" chic — and isn’t that a great bonus?
