Shawn Mendes Has a Secret Journal He Doesn't Want You to Know About
Shawn Mendes has a secret journal. but it looks like it's not much of a secret anymore.
While talking to Scott Goldman at his LA Grammy Museum event on September 25, Goldman questioned Shawn about his journal and he was surprised that Goldman knew about it.
"Wow, how did you know this?" Shawn asked, according to E! News. "Did I say this in an interview?!"
Goldman replied with, "I have my sources," which made Shawn think that his mom revealed the journal to Goldman beforehand.
"Is it my mom? "The 'Truth Is' journal...I know what you're talking about. So, I have a journal, and in the journal, I basically go, 'Truth Is...' And I write everything that's true," he revealed. "And I think a lot of the times we lie to ourselves about life and how we feel about people or about things, and I go-no matter how crazy or how obscure this thought is-I go, 'The truth is, this is how I feel about this.' And that's what I have."
While he revealed the prompt of the journal, Shawn didn't give any examples of things that he has written about in it.
"I'll never tell you what's inside," he joked. "I can't even believe you know that exists. You must've emailed my mom!"
He also opened up about being on the road alone and how it has kept him truthful over the years.
"I toured for so long with just me and an acoustic guitar. That was what I think started the connection with me and the fans-that real connection," he said. "The truth is, there was nothing to hide behind. I messed up 24/7. There are compilations on YouTube!"
