If you’re a fan of the glittering beachside homes and the sky-high stiletto-sized drama on Selling Sunset, block off your calendar because the show's newest spin-off, Selling the OC, is just dropped on Netflix!
The latest binge-worthy series from the streamer takes the patented Oppenheim Group to another swanky part of town: Orange County, California, which is also famous for being the sacred birthplace of the Real Housewives franchise.
By the looks of it, chaos ensues! The new co-ed (!!!) cast is made up of 11 real estate agents. And they're all fighting to have their moment with that big old bell the twins make the agents ring after they've closed a deal.
While fans everywhere are getting acquainted with this new cast, they're also getting a sneak peek into their love lives. One of the new agents, Brandi Marshall, is a hardworking mother of two who seems to play a big role in the “office politics.” And of course, she has a hunky husband who was a...former basketball star?! Lots of questions there...
Women's Health did some digging, and here's what you need to know about Brandi and her hubby.
Who is Brandi Marshall?
Brandi is a former public relations executive who calls herself “the great communicator” in her O Group bio. This feels like a bold thing to assert for a soon-to-be reality star, and I am here for it.
Brandi is a philanthropist and frequent contributor to the ALS Foundation. She also supports efforts for Autism research. Brandi adds that her family is at the center of her life and she “enjoys holding the title of wife and Girl Scout mom.” Sweet!
Who is Sean Marshall?
Sean Marshall is Brandi’s husband.
Sean is a former pro-basketball player who had a 13-year career before retiring. He's also the founder of Pro’s Vision which helps aspiring NBA players hone their skills, and the creator of Team Challenge ALS, which raises money to help cure the neurodegenerative disease.
Where did he play basketball?
Sean was a star athlete at Boston College and was even named the 2007 Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year during his senior year at the Jesuit school. Sean’s college roommate was baseball player Pete Frates, who died in 2019 after being diagnosed with ALS in his twenties. ICYMI: Pete was the one who invented the viral Ice Bucket Challenge.
After college, Sean played professional basketball all over the place (I'm talking Greece, France, Japan, Germany), but he spent most of his career playing in Turkey, according to his LinkedIn. He retired in 2020.
Sean still posts basketball tips on his IG account, though.
How did he and Brandi meet?
Much to my delight, Brandi and Sean’s 2015 wedding website is still active, so we get an inside look at their love story.
According to the website, Brandi and Sean met in middle school in Rialto, California, and grew up close to one another. They occasionally saw each other throughout adulthood, but really connected on BlackBerry Messenger (ah, the good old days) while he was in Turkey and she was living in Los Angeles.
“Text messages turned into emails, long emails turned into even longer facetime and skype conversations. In Dec 2013, Sean invited Brandi to come visit him in Turkey and their friendship turned into LOVE....” Um, I'm into this!
Sean made a truly...unique short film that includes their proposal footage. It is mandatory viewing for sure.
When did they get married?
The video seemed to work because these two corny kids tied the knot in June of 2015 in San Clemente. So, they've been married for just over seven years now.
Do they have kids?
They do! Brandi and Sean have a daughter and a son together.
What is Sean's net worth?
This one is up in the air. There's no exact number out there for Sean's total net worth, but I as a basketball pro, he probably pulled in a decent salary.
