Selena Gomez appeared a true rare beauty in one of her latest special occasion looks!
The Only Murders in the Building star attended her brand Rare Beauty's Inaugural Rare Impact Fund Benefit Supporting Youth Mental Health on Oct. 4 in Los Angeles, Calif., showing up as the Host With the Most for the event in a unique, standout ensemble.
In photos from the charitable function, Gomez shimmered in a purple flower mini dress with glimmering details, after changing into the colorful piece from a luxurious, sparkly silver gown.
The important occasion supported the Rare Impact Fund’s mission to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and expand access to mental health services and education for young people around the world.
While hosting the event, the 31-year-old took the stage to address the crowd, admitting, “This has been the culmination of a lifelong dream for me, but it has also stemmed from some of the darkest moments in my life.”
“I struggled with the world inside my head for a long time and I felt lost and I felt hopeless at times. In 2020 I received my diagnosis of bipolar disorder, and to be honest, everything quickly changed. I actually got the knowledge and the answers I had been desperate for for so long, and understanding that obviously makes me become more aware of it, and I’m less afraid than I used to be,” she continued.
Gomez added: “With that knowledge, I could seek out the support I needed, to be myself, to find my joy again, and tonight I’m very proud to say that I have. I’m working really hard every day and I’m so happy just to be alive and be here with you guys today.”
The Rare Impact Fund has a goal of raising $100 million over the course of ten years to provide resources to others who may not have access or funds in the way that she does, as she hopes to be a positive light for future generations. Specifically, her "little sister Gracie" has served as additional inspiration for her mission through the project.
Change-making advocacy work aside, on the fashion front, the Wizards of Waverly Place alum is no stranger to stylish looks, as she has been seen over the past few months in a collection of glamorous 'fits. For this year's MTV VMAs, she slipped into a lacy, beaded red spaghetti strap dress, and most recently, donned a chic white polka dot mini dress by French designer, Jacquemus, that fans swore was "a dream."
