Selena Gomez Feels Life Without Justin Bieber Is the ‘Healthiest Decision’ for Her
Selena Gomez was radio silent on social media yesterday, when her on-off ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber had his second wedding to Hailey Baldwin. Us Weekly did get a little scoop about her headspace though: Gomez is really, really fine not having the Biebs in her life anymore.
“Selena knows she’s better off without Justin, and that it’s the healthiest decision for her,” a source told the outlet. “She is open to dating, but right now she is solely focused on herself and enjoying life to the best of her ability, and getting back to being the Selena that she and all of her close ones knew prior to dating Justin.”
Gomez has been prioritizing self-care, the source continued: “She is in a good place. She has been hanging out with old friends and family and keeping herself out of the limelight and away from public places where she might feel bombarded or overwhelmed.”
The last public statement Gomez made about Bieber was a silent one this June: She quietly took down her only Instagram with him in it, a birthday tribute to him she shared the year before, when they were still dating. Gomez and Bieber rekindled their relationship one last time in October 2017 before they took a break turned breakup in March 2018. Bieber started dating Baldwin in June 2018, got engaged to her in July 2o18, and married to her legally in September 2018.
Bieber's last big statement about Gomez was made in March this year. He explained to fans that while he still loved Gomez, Baldwin was his bride and the woman who makes him happy.
"I absolutely loved and love Selena she will always hold a place in my heart, but I am head over heels in love with my wife and she is absolutely the BEST THING that has ever happened to me period," he wrote on Instagram. "This is a reply to all immature sick people who send Hailey hurtful messages like ' he always goes back to Selena' or 'Selena is better for him' YOU HAVE NO IDEA MY LIFE AND WHATs good for me. Hailey is my Bride period if you don’t like that or support that that means you don’t support me and if you don’t support me your not a fan nor a good person."
