Selena Gomez’s BFF Francia Raísa Showed Her Surgery Scar on the Red Carpet

About a month ago, Selena Gomez shocked fans when she revealed that she’d undergone a kidney transplant earlier this year as part of her ongoing treatment for the autoimmune disease lupus.

The singer received the transplant from her BFF, actor Francia Raísa. The procedure left Selena with a wicked scar, a photo of which she shared online:

Now, Francia, who’s starred on The Secret Life of the American Teenager and the TV adaptation of Dear White People, hit the red carpet for People magazine’s Ones to Watch event, wearing a snappy studded white suit with a sheer shirt:

While the outfit is quite notable on its own, visible through the shirt are what are almost definitely Francia’s own scars from the transplant:

Like her BFF, Francia seems to have taken some time away from public appearances to heal, but she seems pumped and proud to be back in the spotlight:
