See Nicole Kidman, 56, Show Off Toned Abs in Cutout Dress at CMA Awards

Nicole Kidman showed off toned abs in a cutout dress at the CMA Awards.
She attended alongside her husband, Keith Urban.
The black, cutout style is one she’s returned to, time and time again.
Nicole Kidman may’ve attended the CMA Awards in support of her country music star husband, Keith Urban, but she ended up being the star of the show. The 56-year-old walked the event’s red carpet wearing a fitted, black gown with midriff cutouts that showed off her toned abs. And the dress itself was held together by some very special, on-theme hardware.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Kidman’s Coperni gown’s triangular center was a literal hand percussion triangle—the dress being one of many in the label’s spring 2024 collection inspired by music and acoustics. Kidman accessorized the unique garment with a sparkling silver choker, as well as matching rings and a bracelet. She wore black Jimmy Choo mules (like these heels) and a black triangular handbag (similar to this affordable option), her long hair down, parted in the middle.
Urban, a presenter at the ceremony, wore a dark green button-down shirt, black trousers, and black Balenciaga boots, per WWD. The event also featured appearances from country music headliners Morgan Wallen, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, and more. Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning hosted the show.
The all-black look from Kidman echoes her 2021 CMAs look—a gown that featured similar cutouts, but included a long, asymmetrical sleeve, a thigh-high slit, and a dramatic waist-tied bow. In general, she seems to be a fan of wearing all-black on the red carpet. More recently, she attended a Special Ops: Lioness event (a show in which she recently starred alongside Zoe Saldana) wearing yet another black cutout dress—a halter style embellished with a cape and feathery rose appliqué at its décolletage.
Thankfully, black is a classic color that can’t really be overdone. And fans certainly haven’t tired of it on Kidman. “Your beauty is timeless!” one person commented on Instagram under the Special Ops post. “So beautiful,” another added. “She is PERFECTION in a human shape ??,” someone else wrote.
Speaking of shape, the actress certainly stays in it to continue rocking what’s quickly becoming her signature dress style. And as it turns out, she keeps her exercise routine simple. In 2019, she told Byrdie she goes for a run, hike, or an ocean swim to de-stress. She goes on walks often, and in 2014, she told The Los Angeles Times that, in general, she likes to mix up movement to keep it interesting.
“Variety is the best way I’ve found. If you think you are going to wake up and run five miles every morning for the rest of your life, you’ll get bored and hit the snooze button after a week,” she said. “So I try and mix it up with sports, running, yoga, and even just going for a walk with my husband and the kids.”
