'Santa Clauses' Actress Slams Tim Allen as 'Worst Experience Ever' With a Co-Star
Tim Allen is currently starring in the second season of the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses, the sequel to The Santa Clause film trilogy. But apparently Allen's demeanor on-set couldn't be more unlike jolly old Saint Nick, according to one of his co-stars.
In the first season, actress and comedian Casey Wilson makes a cameo as the grown-up version of Sara, the little girl that Allen’s character Scott Calvin encounters in the original movie. And although the pair only had one scene together, suffice to say it was not one that Casey remembers fondly.
“Tim Allen was such a bitch. It was the truly single worst experience I’ve ever had with a co-star ever,” Wilson detailed on a recent episode of her Bitch Sesh podcast, according to Rolling Stone. Wilson elaborated that she had opened up about the experience before as she's a friend of one of the producers on the show and because her children loved the movies.
"So I’m in a scene. It’s just me and Tim Allen and I’m supposed to throw things at him," Wilson explained. “I think he’s a burglar. So he’s coming down the chimney, obviously as Santa, and I am woken up thinking there’s an intruder, basically like a home invasion scene."
"So I’m throwing things at him. [He] goes over to the producer who is standing four feet from me and goes, and I hear him, he goes, ‘You gotta tell her to stop stepping on my lines,'" she continued. "The producer turns to me with horror on his face and has to walk one foot to me and he goes, ‘Um, Tim would ask that you stop stepping on his lines.'"
Wilson recalled that "everybody was walking on eggshells" around the 70-year-old and that "people just looked frantic." "When he was done, he was so f--king rude," she claimed. "Never made eye contact, never said anything. It was so uncomfortable."
Even worse, the Happy Endings star said that when Allen was finished with the scene he announced "Leaving!" and then took off his Santa cape and let it drop to the floor for someone else to pick up, then walked out. "And they hustle in his stand-in—lovely man, who actually was much nicer to act against," she added. "People are scurrying to pick up his velvet Santa coat. He’s a bitch."
Wilson is known for roles in Gone Girl, Saturday Night Live, Happy Endings, Bride Wars, and more.
Allen has yet to comment on the claims.
