Sandra Oh Reveals What It’s Really Like Working with Jodie Comer on ‘Killing Eve’
Listen up, Killing Eve fans. Sandra Oh just revealed what it’s really like working with her co-star, Jodie Comer.
The 47-year-old actress appeared on today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she discussed the highly anticipated second season of the thriller series.
In the clip, Oh chats about her hosting gig on Saturday Night Live before diving into Killing Eve. After explaining the premise of the series, DeGeneres reveals that her co-star Comer is coming on Ellen in a few days.
This prompts Oh to talk about Comer’s character, Villanelle, and how the actress transforms on-screen. When the daytime host asks if Comer is “frightening” in real life, the Grey’s Anatomy alum confirms that her co-star couldn’t be more different from her character.
“No, not at all. And I cannot tell you, I cannot wait for you to meet her and then speak to her, so you’ll hear what she really sounds like. And it will just blow you away,” Oh says, referring to Comer’s IRL English accent.
Oh went on to gush over Comer’s ability to adapt to the several languages that Villanelle speaks on the show, and (*sniff, sniff*) is that a girl crush we smell?
Killing Eve is based on Luke Jennings’s Codename Villanelle novels and tells the story of an MI6 operative, Eve (Oh), who is bound to a psychopathic assassin, Villanelle, by their mutual obsession with destroying one another.
Who will come out on top? Guess we’ll have to wait until season two of Killing Eve premieres on Sunday, April 7, at 8 p.m. on BBC America and AMC.
