Sand Creek Summer Daze Festival kicks off in Newton
NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) — The Sand Creek Summer Daze Festival has been going on since 2018. It is completely volunteer-run.
This year, the theme is Take Flight, so there will be aviation-themed activities. Volunteers say this is a great way to celebrate summer and the community.
“In Harvey County, we want to celebrate family,” volunteer Rachel Bachman said. “We want to highlight all the companies and businesses that are a part of our community, and there’s events, we have great food, there’s art to do. I think this community is so loving and encompassing of all people, and I think coming to this festival as a family is just a great opportunity to celebrate who we are, take flight, laugh and have fun.”
Activities include an ice cream eating competition, art in the park, concerts and more. Buttons are $5. Find the full schedule by clicking here.
