Saks and Cynthia Erivo Toast to Summer In The Hamptons with an Intimate Dinner
There’s nothing like toasting the start of summer with an evening of delicious food, chilled cocktails and fun with friends like Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning actress, singer, songwriter and producer Cynthia Erivo. Well...perhaps that’s not your typical celebration but for Saks, it is their tradition to toast the summer in extravagance!
This past Wednesday, Saks CEO Marc Metrick and the endlessly talented Cynthia Erivio hosted an intimate dinner to celebrate the start of the summer season in the Hamptons with the who’s who of fashion. Guests included the likes of Jason Wu, Christopher John Rogers, Lorraine Schwartz, Tanya Taylor, Nina Garcia, and other industry elite.
The dinner took place on the picturesque terrace at the Parrish Art Museum. Guests enjoyed a gourmet meal, curated by Chef Yann Nury and sweet confections by L’Avenue at Saks Executive Pastry Chef Stephanie Oliveira. Dinner was served upon custom neon tables that perfectly complemented the museum’s Martin Creed art installation as guests embraced the tranquil sounds of the surrounding waterfall displays.
Metrick was “thrilled to gather our friends once again for our summer celebration in the Hamptons.” He expressed, “After a challenging year, we are proud to resume this annual tradition and bring our Saks family memorable experiences they can’t get anywhere else.” In past years, this traditional dinner has been held at other beautiful locations like Eleven Madison Park Summer House and W?lffer Estate Vineyard, hosted by stars such as Keri Russell, Priyanka Chopra and Lucy Boyton.
Cynthia Erivo, freshly nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Aretha Franklin, was the brilliant co-host of the evening dressed in Alexander McQueen and Bottega Veneta. Erivo reflected fondly on the honor of hosting with Saks noting, “There is nothing better than gathering around a table and enjoying an evening of laughter, conversation and connection with wonderful hearts and minds alike."
