‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ Netflix Reboot Will Have a ‘Riverdale' Twist
Netflix knows everyone’s life could use a touch of magic...but with a contemporary twist.
The new Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot, which was just picked up by the streaming service for two seasons, will provide a darker, more sinister look at Sabrina Spellman, with the same team behind Riverdale (Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa as creator and writer, with Lee Toland Krieger as director for the pilot episode) at the show’s helm. It’ll be based on the Archie graphic comic series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. (So, no funny talking cat?)
The series was originally ordered for the CW as a post-Riverdale success story, but it seems Netflix jumped on the show with an offer that Warner Bros. couldn’t refuse.
OK, OK, so it’s less ABC Family and more AHS: Coven. Either way, we’re praying for a Melissa Joan Hart cameo. Pretty please?
