The Running of the Bulls gets New Orleans on the move
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Running of the Bulls in New Orleans enjoys its 18th annual celebration, with “San Fermin in Nueva Orleans” events held from July 12 to 14 bringing fun to the city and making charitable contributions with proceeds along the way.

The second day of events started at 8 a.m. on Saturday and began in front of Gallier Hall in Downtown New Orleans. The running featured countless participants being chased through the streets by the “bulls,” and was followed by the Post-Run Fiesta before being finished off by the last event of the day, “La Fiesta de Pantalones.”
Proceeds from Saturday’s events go to covering event costs as well as supporting “Beth’s Friends Forever,” an organization that helps to supplement resources of women who are fighting cancer.
NOLA Bulls’ website offers some background on BFF’s origins, saying, “In July, 2014, Beth Hanning was diagnosed with Stage IIB Breast Cancer. Her story and experience was the inspiration for the creation of ‘Beth’s Friends Forever.’ BFF’s goal is to supplement the resources of women fighting cancer in the Greater New Orleans area.”
