The Royal Family Just Shared the List of Gifts They Received in 2019 (and Even the Kids Made Out like Bandits)
The royal family just released a complete list of the hundreds—we repeat, hundreds—of gifts that were accepted by Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle while carrying out official duties in 2019.
From a heartfelt children’s book to a 24-carat gold-plated comb, keep reading for all the highlights.
Queen Elizabeth
While she received hundreds of trinkets—like books, dolls and paintings—she also obtained a few special mementos. For example, she was given a red poppy brooch by Tiffany & Co., which pays tribute to the partnership between the U.K. and the U.S. Armed Forces.
Some people—like President Borut Pahor of the Republic of Slovenia—went above and beyond and gifted the monarch a 24-carat gold-plated horse comb, which probably weighs a ton. Arm workout FTW.
Prince Charles
In addition to a variety of knickknacks, Prince Charles accumulated a few interesting pieces, including a pair of swimming trunks and eight wooden eggs from New Zealand (don’t ask…).
Prince William & Kate Middleton
Prince William’s gifts included a wide range of T-shirts, pens, perfume bottles (yes), badges and even a copy of the Quran. As for Middleton, she was given a slew of books, shawls and two—we repeat, two—cricket bats. *Sniff, sniff* Is that a new hobby we smell?
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also accepted several gifts—like a St. John Ambulance Station and Ambulance play set—on behalf of their three children: Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (4) and Prince Louis (2).
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle
The couple accepted several books, shoes, plates, bags, jewelry and scarves, along with a few Archie-related items (like a baby carrier). They also received a saddle and bridle during their visit to Morocco. Casual.
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor
Archie was given loads of gifts during his first official visit to South Africa, including several elephant and rhinoceros stuffed animals. Other standouts include two children’s book from Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Archie also received two baby wetsuits from Waves for Change (because one just isn’t enough).
Oh, to be royal.
