We Rounded Up the Best Audiobooks of All Time Cuz We Know You Need Something to Do
Your eyeballs have a lot on their plate these days—you gotta stay up on the news, scroll through Twitter and Instagram, read your book club book, scan emails from your boss, and skim through your group text which is never not popping off. Oh, and duh, there are full seasons of new Netflix shows that need to be demolished in a single day. Consider an audiobook the next time you want to give your eyes a lil break. The truth is sometimes you're just not in the mood to sit down and read a book, but you're still craving the immersive experience that literature provides.
I'll be honest, I didn't hop on the audiobook bandwagon for a long time. I was a paper-book-in-hand purist. But once I dipped a toe in to the world of listening to books, I was hooked. They transform boring tasks like cleaning your room and make going for a jog fly by. Plain and simple, it's hard to focus on how much you hate folding your laundry when you're busy trying to figure out who the small-town murderer is. And you can't sleep on the fact that the best audiobooks are narrated by top-tier talent—award-winning actors, activists, and the authors themselves (who sometime happen to be former First Ladies). This summer is no doubt gonna be weird and different, but hopefully this list of the best audiobooks of all time will help make your socially-distanced days a bit more interesting.
