The Rock’s New Under Armour Training Shoe Is Here
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s third training shoe with Under Armour is here.
The Under Armour Project Rock 3 was revealed by the musclebound celebrity yesterday on Instagram, and today it will hit retail.
According to Under Armour, Johnson designed the shoe with the brand with comfort and stability in mind. To achieve this, Under Armour equipped the performance style with its latest innovations such as UA TriBase tech, which was added to offer greater ground contact and to promote natural motion, and soft and energy-returning Hovr cushioning.
Also, the shoe was built with knit bootie construction to keep it snug and comfortable, external heel counters paired with stability chassis for stability and support, an atypical lacing structure to keep the foot locked in and durable rubber outsoles.
The shoe will debut in two colorways in men, women and grade school sizing.
The Under Armour Project Rock 3 arrives today via UA.com, at UA Brand Houses and in select retailers. The look will retail for $140, with grade school sizing coming with a $120 price tag.

Although the shoe made its debut today, it was supposed to happen sooner, however Johnson announced on Aug. 27 that its release would be postponed out of respect for Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man who was shot seven times by police in Kenosha, Wis. The shooting caused protests and continued advocacy for racial equality amongst civilians and stars and athletes alike, including the NBA and WNBA postponing playoff games.
Aside from the sneaker release, Johnson shared other news on social media yesterday — although it was far less positive.
On Instagram, The Rock revealed that he, his wife and his children within the past three weeks all tested positive for COVID-19. “This has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family,” Johnson said in the post.
However, Johnson stated that he and his family have recovered. “I am happy to tell you guys that we as a family are good. we are on the other end of it, we are on the other side, we are no longer contagious and we are — thank God — we are healthy,” Johnson said.
