Registration closes soon for Carnation Festival activities
As the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival gets underway later this week, pay attention to deadlines for registration for some events.
Registration is open at carnationfestival.com for the 27th Carnation Festival Pet Show. The event will be 6 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Jaycees Shelter in Silver Park. Registration also is possible with a QR code on the festival’s Facebook page, or by visiting the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce office on East Main Street.
Categories for competition will be Best Looking Dog, Best Looking Cat, Best Looking “Other,” Best Looking Baby (pet ages 1 or younger) and Owner/Pet Look-Alike.
Registration by Aug. 5 will earn entrants a free goodie bag. Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers in each category.
Festival officials note that pets are not permitted in areas of Silver Park where food is being prepared or consumed. Service animals are the only exception. Contact [email protected] with questions.
