The Real Party at the Met Gala Took Place in the Coed Bathroom

Celebrities were snapped on the red carpet at the 2017 Met Gala debuting eccentric looks and socializing with friends. However, the most interesting photos of the night might have been taken in the most unexpected place — the bathroom.

Even though there is a “no social media” policy inside the gala, celebrities still tend to post content on different social platforms throughout the night. Kylie Jenner was one of the many attendees to post an image from the coed restroom at the event.

The 19-year-old social media star and makeup mogul posted a mirror selfie with a number of well-known names, including sisters Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian, rapper A$AP Rocky, Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Paris Jackson, Michelle Monaghan, Brie Larson (who, as she explained on Twitter, “needed to go to the bathroom and ended up famous”), and Frank Ocean, among others.

She captioned the image, “annual bathroom selfie.” Stars featured in the photo posted similar shots — for example, in her post, Monaghan zoomed in on her face in the background and added: “When you photobomb all the cool kids.”

Hailey Baldwin couldn’t handle it:

Designer Prabal Gurung also shared a video on his Instagram channel from inside, which showed off how packed and chaotic the scene was. Victoria’s Secret models Behati Prinsloo and Taylor Hill can be seen seen posing with model Hailey Baldwin in the clip.

Gurung captioned the video, “This is where it’s at and yes, that is indeed Catherine Deneuve,” referencing famous French actress, who is also briefly featured in the short video. The designer also posted a series of selfies with model Emily Ratajkowski and actress Deepika Padukone.

Prinsloo is featured in the back of a number of the photos, smoking a cigarette.

Designer Marc Jacobs, Courtney Love, and Frances Bean Cobain were also pictured hanging out — and smoking — in the restroom, in a photo posted by model Char Defrancesco.

Another celebrity spotted visiting the restroom for a smoke break? Bella Hadid. The 20-year-old model posed for a shot while sitting on the floor with Paris Jackson, Ruby Rose, and model Lara Stone.

Since it was posted on Paris Jackson’s Instagram, a number of fan accounts have reposted the image of the foursome.

Along with the smoking selfie, model Defrancesco also shared a video of Ratajkowski showing off her Van Gogh-inspired gown from Marc Jacobs.

Model Ashley Graham also took a snap featuring fellow models Jourdan Dunn, Adwoa Aboah, and Slick Woods at one point in the night.

Designer Stella McCartney shared a shot with three actresses in the restroom — Dakota Johnson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Kate Bosworth.

“All goes down in the toilets,” McCartney captioned the selfie. Fellow fashion insider Eva Chen shared a selfie alongside Reese Witherspoon.

“It’s not a party until you hang out with @reesewitherspoon in the ladies room,” Chen captioned the post.
