Rachel Zegler Will No Longer Be in Paddington 3

Another casualty from the SAG strike hit the news this morning when it was revealed that Rachel Zegler will no longer star in Paddington 3.

The film's official title is Paddington in Peru, and it follows the titular bear and the Brown family as they visit Aunt Lucy in Peru. However, things don't go to plan, and a mystery sends them to the Amazon rainforest and up the Peruvian mountains.

Zegler was set to star alongside Antonio Banderas' character of Hunter Cabot as his daughter, Gina, but told Collider, "I was a part of Paddington 3, but I'm not anymore because of the SAG strike".

"They were able to continue filming, but I was the only SAG actor," she said, going on to say, "Another talented actress is doing it and I'm very excited to see because it was a wonderful script and I think Paddington fans are going to be very thrilled."

IMDb says that Carla Tous will be the one to take over the role. Tous' previous credits include roles in television series 30 Coins and Three Days of Christmas, as well as feature films A través de tu mirada and El hombre del saco.

Paddington in Peru will hit US theaters on January 17, 2025.
