So, Queen Elizabeth *Does* Watch ‘The Crown’ (& Here’s What She Thinks About It)
Between jetting around in helicopters and looking after her McDonald’s location, Queen Elizabeth is a busy gal. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t love a good Netflix binge, and there’s one show she quite fancies: The Crown.
Vanessa Kirby, who played Princess Margaret in seasons one and two of the show, told Harper’s Bazaar, “A friend of mine was at a party and didn’t know anyone, so he sidled up to this group who were talking about The Crown, when one said, ‘Well, my granny watches it and really likes it.’ It slowly dawned on him that the girl was [Princess] Eugenie and her granny was the queen.” *Picks jaw up off floor*
Kirby went on to say that Prince Philip, on the other hand, isn’t a fan: “We’ve heard that Philip doesn’t watch it—he can’t be bothered.” Since Phil isn’t portrayed in the best light on the series (*cough* Matt Smith), it’s really no surprise he doesn’t binge-watch it in between BBQ sessions.
So there you have it: The Crown has Queen Elizabeth’s royal approval. Now we can finally rest easy.
