Princess Margaret's Grandson, Arthur Chatto, Rowed 2,000 Miles Around the UK for Charity
Arthur Chatto may be Princess Margaret's grandson (and Queen Elizabeth's great nephew), but he's not about to rest on his blue-blooded laurels. The 21-year-old has just completed a major feat: rowing 2,000 miles around the UK for charity. The tremendous feat took a whopping 42 days, and raised over ￡21,500 ($28,449) for the British Red Cross and Just One Ocean.
Chatto and his teammates—Charles Bromhead, Harry Lidgley, and Oliver Dawe-Lane—were only able to complete the GB Row Challenge after self-isolating together. Due to the pandemic, other teams had to pull out of the race.
The young royal's parents, Lady Sarah Chatto and Daniel Chatto, as well as his brother Sam and girlfriend Lizzie Friend, greeted Arthur at St. Katharine Docks upon the team's arrival. Arthur, who had been documenting the team's progress on social media, shared the news yesterday on Instagram. "We are thrilled to announce we finished the GB Row under tower bridge in 42 days 8hrs 23 mins 16 seconds and became the Youngest team ever to row around Great Britain. It was an amazing moment and made it all worth it," he wrote in the caption.

And how did Arthur's family feel about this dangerous excursion? He opened up to the Telegraph about his mom's thoughts in January, when the team was training for the endeavor. “With my mum, I think it’s always best not to tell her the full details and then she can’t get too worried,” he said. “Then, when you’re back—touch wood—she won’t worry as much.”
