A Definitive Timeline of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's Relationship
In just a few short days (October 12, to be precise) Princess Eugenie will steal the royal wedding spotlight from Meghan Markle and *finally* get married to her dashing nightclub manager boyfriend Jack Brooksbank. And while you may not know much about their relationship, hopefully you're at the very least familiar with this iconic photo:
Of course, there are tons of other equally great moments to review, so let's DO THIS THING.
2010: When It All Began
Eugenie and Jack meet in Verbier, Switzerland, a moment Eugenie describes as "love at first sight." Check out this sweet quote: "We met when I was 20, he was 24," she said. "[We] fell in love. We have the same passions and drive for life."
Here's a photo from the year they met. So young! So in love! That necklace! So mid-aughts!
June 2011
Eugenie and Jack attend their first event as a couple: the Royal Ascot! This was totally my first event with my S.O., too.
October 2011
Eugenie and Jack are spotting CLUBBING. Which, um, lol.
Circa 2013
Eugenie leaves London for New York City to work for online auction house Paddle8, and she and Jack decide to do long distance. "He’s not a jet-setty type," a friend said, explaining that the pair communicated via Skype.
July 2014
Eugenie and Jack hit the club again, which again, lol.
July 2015
Eugenie and Jack make a public appearance at the Royal Ascot, looking all kinds of in love. (They've attended a bunch of Ascots in their time, but this was a particularly happy and loved-up one.)
May 2017
Eugenie and Jack attend Pippa Middleton's semi-but-not-really-royal wedding.
Not to start drama, but does anyone else think it's rude that Pippa invited Jack but not Meghan Markle when neither of them were married into the royal fam yet? Just sayin'.
October 2017
Apparently, Eugenie and Jack are into basketball, because they're spotted at a Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks game with Ellie Goulding. Friends! Sure!
January 2018
Eugenie and Jack announce their engagement! Eugenie shows off her pink sapphire ring in an interview, which the pair designed together after the proposal. That's right, Jack popped the question without a ring during a trip to Nicaragua, because he "didn’t want to do anything until Eugenie had signed off on it."
Eugenie's mom, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is very excited and full of jokes.
They float with laughter and love .. although a boat helps! #engagement#eugieandjack@TheDukeOfYork@yorkiebeapic.twitter.com/Q7ezWecUsa

April 2018
Eugenie and Jack move to Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace. Fun fact: Their new digs are right next door to Nottingham Cottage - AKA Harry and Meghan's new home.
May 2018
Eugenie and Jack hit up Harry and Meghan's royal wedding and witness history. In incredible seats, I might add.
August 4, 2018
Eugenie and Jack hit up *another* wedding, this time that of their close friends Charlie Van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks. The pair look super loved-up in coordinating colors, and Eugenie's glasses are fully a LEWK.
August 17, 2018
It's revealed that Eugenie and Jack's wedding is costing taxpayers a whopping $2 million, which will go towards security. Ye olde England seems collectively upset by the news, with politicians like Labour MP Emma Dent Coad telling Daily Mirror, "In these times of heightened security risks it is irresponsible for a minor member of the royal family to have a high profile, very public wedding. This may be the time to review the role and cost of minor royals."
October 2, 2018
Eugenie and Jack's official wedding tea set is revealed, and it's missing one major detail: a crown over their joint monogram:
.@RCT has released a new line of items to celebrate Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.
You will notice Eugenie’s solo monogram features a crown, as she is an HRH. But the couple’s joint monogram & Jack’s solo monogram doesn’t have a crown. pic.twitter.com/cZwcvdsJl0

Feel free to read into this, because royal watchers think it means Jack is officially not getting a title once he marries into the family.
Annnd that's all for now. This post will be updated with the next development in Eugenie and Jack's love story - until then, a very royal adieu.
