Princess Charlotte’s School Nickname Is Super Rebellious…and We Love It
Princess Charlotte, 4, started school last week with big brother Prince George, 6, and we're hoping her badass preschool nickname follows her to the big-kid grades.
According to Vanity Fair royal reporter Katie Nicholls, Charlotte was a fiery and "feisty" little pupil at Willcocks Nursery School, so much so that she was called the "Warrior Princess" by teachers and students. Move over, Xena. Charlotte is here to show us how sharing is really done.
For now, though, she's just going to be "Charlotte Cambridge" at her new and swanky $23,000-per-year Thomas's Battersea Day School in order to blend in (no "princess," with or without "warrior"). George is known as George Cambridge to his classmates, though Charlotte may answer to "Lottie" like her mum, Kate Middleton, calls her.
According to reports, Charlotte definitely embodied her Warrior Princess alter-ego when on her first day of school last week. She was "not nervous at all," a family friend told VF, and was actually "very excited," Prince William was overheard saying as he and the duchess dropped them off on September 5. Although she did hide behind mom Kate's arm when the family arrived (listen, all Warrior Princesses have their moments), she quickly got used to the photographers on location and even did some ponytail swinging for the camera.
Prince George would "help show you the way,” Kate was overheard telling little Lottie—er, we mean Warrior Princess—according to The Telegraph.
For the first day, Charlotte even opted for a sequin unicorn keychain that she added to her new Thomas's Battersea backpack. Hey, every Warrior Princess needs her valiant steed to ride in on...
