Prince William and Kate Middleton's Festive Royal Train Tour, in Photos

The holiday season is upon us and, as such, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are spreading Christmas cheer around the United Kingdom. The couple embarked on a three-day tour of Scotland, England, and Wales aboard the royal train, thanking individuals and organizations that, according to Kensington Palace, "have gone above and beyond in response to the coronavirus pandemic."

During the 1,250-mile journey, the Duke and Duchess are meeting frontline workers, teachers, caretakers, and schoolchildren, hearing about how they've handled this difficult year. Ahead of their departure, a Kensington Palace spokesperson said, “The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward to shining a spotlight on the incredible work that has been done across the country throughout this difficult year and to sharing their gratitude on behalf of the nation for all those supporting their local communities ahead of the Christmas holidays.”
