Prince William and Kate Middleton Share Heartfelt Christmas Message
Christmas looked different this year—even for the royal family. Kate Middleton and Prince William celebrated the holiday at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, England, with their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Their plans were changed due to COVID-19 guidelines put in place to protect English residents from the virus and the infectious new strain. However, they did take the time to send their well-wishes to people via the Kensington Royal Instagram account.
"This Christmas our thoughts are with those of you who are spending today alone, those of you who are grief stricken from the loss of a loved one and those of you on the frontline who are somehow mustering the energy to put your own lives on hold and at risk to look after the rest of us," the post read. "Wishing you a merry Christmas doesn’t feel right this year, so instead we’re wishing for a better 2021."
Kate and William recently released their royal Christmas card with George, Charlotte, and Louis. So, they were able to keep some holiday traditions alive! The portrait, taken by photographer Matt Porteous, features the family posing in similar sweaters while sitting in front of a batch of logs.
"The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new image of their family, which features on their Christmas card this year??." Kensington Palace said in a release.
Most of the U.K. is under tier four lockdown. All households are banned from mixing and staying overnight away from their home. A travel ban is also in effect. Hopefully, 2021 will be better—and safer—for everyone!
