Prince Harry Will Remain in the UK For Now

After traveling to be with the rest of the royal family at Balmoral yesterday, Prince Harry will be staying in the UK for the time being as the nation mourns the death of Queen Elizabeth. It's as yet unclear if Meghan Markle will be staying with her husband, or returning to their home in Montecito, California.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were already in Europe for a series of events to support charities close to their hearts when Queen Elizabeth died; on Monday, they traveled to Manchester for the One Young World Summit, and on Tuesday, they were in Düsseldorf, Germany, for a "One Year to Go" event for the 2023 Invictus Games.

While the timeline of how long Harry will stay in the UK has yet to be confirmed, Queen Elizabeth's funeral is expected to take place at some point in the next two weeks.

"Following the death of Her Majesty The Queen, it is His Majesty The King's wish that a period of Royal Mourning be observed from now until seven days after The Queen’s Funeral. The date of the Funeral will be confirmed in due course," Buckingham Palace shared today. "Royal Mourning will be observed by Members of the Royal Family, Royal Household staff and Representatives of the Royal Household on official duties, together with troops committed to Ceremonial Duties."

Prince Harry, as still a member of the royal family, will observe this royal mourning as well. This means that like the rest of the family, he will dress in dark colors and likely wearing a mourning band.
