Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Arrive at Queen Elizabeth's Funeral
Today, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are joining the extended royal family in saying goodbye to Queen Elizabeth. The Sussexes are in attendance at the late monarch's state funeral at Westminster Abbey this morning. We saw them process in to the church following Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
Harry and Meghan were already in Europe for a series of charity-related appearances when the Queen's health took a turn. While the Sussexes now live full-time in California with their two children Archie and Lilibet, they have remained in the UK during this period of mourning and have made several appearances alongside the rest of the royals.
Notably, on Saturday, Prince Harry participated in a vigil, standing watch beside the Queen's coffin with his cousins, Elizabeth II's eight grandchildren. Harry and Meghan also reunited with William and Kate to visit a flower memorial to the Queen in Windsor.
In a written tribute to his grandmother, Prince Harry also opened up about his children meeting the Queen.
"Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings—from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren," he said, referencing the Queen's words: "Life, of course, consists of final partings as well as first meetings."
He also spoke about his father, the newly named King Charles III in the statement, by saying: "As it comes to first meetings, we now honour my father in his new role as King Charles III."
