Prince Harry Breaks Silence on King Charles' Cancer Diagnosis in Rare TV Interview

Prince Harry is finally speaking out about his father King Charles' cancer diagnosis.

Though the two have been estranged, upon getting the news that the monarch would be undergoing treatment, The Duke of Sussex quickly put their differences aside and hopped on a plane to visit his dad less than 24 hours after the medical diagnosis was publicly announced.

Now, he's breaking his silence on the health news, opening up during an interview with Good Morning America.

While speaking with Will Reeves while in Canada as he and wife Meghan Markle began the 100-day countdown to the Invictus Games in Whistler and Vancouver, the Prince admitted to being happy to have had the opportunity to reunite with his dad so quickly.

"Look, I love my family," the 39-year-old said. "The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him I'm grateful for that."

As Parade previously reported, Prince Harry reportedly flew in from LAX and headed straight to Clarence House where his father was staying on Feb. 6. It is unclear whether or not his prompt actions can be any indication of the true nature or severity of King Charles' recent diagnosis.

The monarch's cancer diagnosis was first revealed on Feb. 5, when Buckingham Palace released a statement revealing that King Charles was diagnosed with an unspecified cancer.

"During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," the update posted via X read.

"The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure," the statement added. "He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible."

King Charles broke his silence about the diagnosis roughly a week later, thanking those who have wished him well as his cancer fight begins and saying it was “heartening” to know that his health disclosure has helped raise awareness among members of the public.
