Prince George and Princess Charlotte Will Be in Royal Wedding
If you were hoping for a reprise of Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s appearance at Pippa Middleton's wedding earlier this year, you’re in luck.
The two children will walk down the aisle behind Meghan Markle at her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, according to The Sunday Times. “The wedding will be a family event,” a spokesperson for the Kensington Palace told The Times. “You can expect the family to be involved.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have a new prince or princess by the time they make their appearance at the Royal wedding. Markle and Prince Harry's wedding, set for St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in May 2018, will fall right after Kate Middleton’s due date in April 2018. (That means it’s likely Prince Harry will be sixth in line for the throne on his wedding day.)
Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2, previously served as pageboy and bridesmaid at their aunt Pippa’s wedding in May. The children wore outfits by Pepa & Co, and Prince George was even shushed by their mother at one point during the event.
Many of the key roles for the wedding have yet to be announced, but The Times speculates that Prince William is a likely choice for best man, and Markle’s stylist and friend Jessica Mulroney “is expected to play an important part beyond helping the bride choose her dress.”
The Queen will be in attendance at the wedding as well. However, it is unclear if the wedding will be televised like that of Prince William and Middleton’s in 2011.
Before the special date, Markle plans to become a British citizen.
