Popular YouTube star and father shared a video of himself buying a child a phallic-shaped lollipop
Austin McBroom, the patriarch behind the popular YouTube channel The ACE Family, which often features pranks and other family interactions, is under fire for buying a young child a phallic-shaped lollipop and sharing a video of the shopping trip to his account.
The video, originally posted to YouTube and now being circulated on Twitter, was seemingly filmed by McBroom himself and showed a young girl in a store pointing at adult-themed candy. While the retail location could have been a gag store often seen in American malls, many on social media have made the assumption that it’s a sex shop.
It is not known if the girl featured in the clip is related to McBroom.
“She said she was going to steal it if I didn’t buy it, so better me buy it,” McBroom says in the video. “Keep that in the bag forever. Do not show that to anybody, OK? That’s your little secret.”
Twitter users were quick to voice their opinions on the inappropriate item.
“I watch the ace family bc they’re a family channel but seeing this makes me so disgusted,” one Twitter user wrote. “austin would never take elle to this shop but just bc it wasn’t his kid, he decides that it’s okay? AND FILM IT?? disgusting. unsubscribing right now.” Another added, “When are y’all gonna stop supporting the ace family, look at what he did, this is literally so gross. he took advantage of a little girl’s naivety and used it for a sexual joke.”
The Ace family is cancelled lmao, been cancelled.

Others have taken to Instagram to air their grievances. One person wrote, “If their next video isn’t an apology video I’m unsubscribing.” Another follower posted, “You should be ashamed of yourself.”
McBroom has yet to publicly acknowledge the controversy, yet continues to post and share on social media.
