Popular Southern fried chicken chain opening several NJ restaurants. Here's where
A fried chicken chain will soon be back in the New Jersey dining scene.
Slim Chickens, an Arkansas-based restaurant chain, announced that it is opening stores in Middlesex, Mercer and Essex counties, which will be the only New Jersey locations.
The first, which was in Flemington, closed in 2021 just months after opening. At the time, the plan to open more than a dozen more New Jersey stores was also halted.
The brand known for its Southern cuisine like macaroni and cheese, buttermilk chicken tenders and chicken and waffles is now searching for franchisees.
Slim Chickens has 275 locations worldwide, with restaurants in North America, Europe and Asia.
