Police Are Investigating After a Woman's Body Was Found Outside Kensington Palace
The palace is Kate Middleton and Prince William's London residence.
U.K. police have launched an investigation after a woman's body was found outside Kensington Palace, the official London residence of Kate Middleton and Prince William.
According to Sky News, a woman was found unresponsive on the morning of August 29 at Kensington Gardens, outside the palace.
"Police were called to Kensington Gardens W2 at 7.09am on Saturday, 29 August to a report of the concern for the safety of a woman," a spokesperson said. "The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as unexplained at this time, but is not thought to be suspicious. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the deceased."
Sky News reports that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were away at Balmoral with their children for a socially-distanced reunion with the Queen, and that although Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank also have a residence at the palace, it is not known if any members of the royal family were there that day.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Kate Middleton and Prince William have been staying at their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk, just less than 100 miles away from London.
