Here’s a Photo of Tom Hanks Dressed Like Mr. Rogers Because, Hell, You Deserve It Today
The news today is an absolute dumpster fire, so in an attempt to combat that, here is a photo of Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers. He's wearing a red cardigan, and it's all kinds of perfect. Please enjoy.
Sony Pictures just released the photo, the first of the two-time Oscar winner Hanks in character for the upcoming untitled project. Apparently, it's coming to a "neighborhood near you" in October 2019.
The project is described as a story of kindness triumphing over cynicism (feels very necessary right now), based on the story of the real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and Tom Junod, a journalist.
Matthew Rhys plays Junod, and he's assigned a profile on Rogers. Through writing it, he overcomes skepticism, learning more about being a nice guy and a decent neighbor, Sony wrote in a release.
In case you need a reminder of how great this show was and all the goodness that's to come, I'll leave you with this.
