Pete Davidson Is Back to Smoking Weed Because He Says It Helps With His Health Issues
In an interview with Howard Stern on Monday, Pete Davidson admitted that after announcing his sobriety in 2017, he has started smoking weed again.
“There was no way I could stop [smoking]. I was like somebody has to put me in a house where there is literally nothing,” he told Stern. The SNL comedian checked himself into rehab in 2016 for what he thought was excessive marijuana use, but he realized the problem wasn't the weed. He was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in 2016.
He's opened up about this before, telling Peter Rosenberg on Open Late in June, “I found out I had a mental disorder. I thought I had a drug problem. It’s a completely different thing.”
Pete explained that he tried the sobriety thing, but it didn't work for him. “I was sober for three months at one point and was like this f*cking sucks,” he told Stern in this new interview.
Part of the reason he still uses marijuana, he said, is because of the other health issues he has, including Crohn's disease.
“I have Crohn’s disease, so it helps more than you can imagine,” he said. “There was a point where I couldn’t get out of bed. I was 110 pounds,” Davidson said. “I also just love smoking weed. I’ve been smoking weed every day for 8 years.”
Once he started smoking weed, he went back to his normal self. That was last year, and now he's engaged to Ariana Grande, which he said is great. You can watch him gush about their love story here:
