Pensacola summer camps include dancing, fishing, kayaking and sports
The summer sun already feels like it’s beating down on top of us as temperatures begin to heat up.
And now that local students are officially on summer break, it's time to start planning for how they'll spend their time. Here’s a list of summer camps to check out:

Play Pensacola Day Camp
Dates: May 28 - Aug. 9
Location: E.S. Cobb Resource Center, Fricker Resource Center, Woodland Heights Resource Center and Gulf Point Resource Center
Hours: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Ages: 5-12
Cost: $54-$63 per person per week
In person registration has already started at participating centers. Camp fees depend on whether you are a city resident or non-city resident.
Play Pensacola Youth Outreach Day Camp
Dates: July 29 - Aug. 2 (various days throughout the week)
Location: Bayview Outdoor Pursuits Center
Hours: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Ages: 8-16
Cost: Free
Eligible students can qualify for the free Play Pensacola Youth Outreach Day Camp, a partnership among Bayview Outdoor Pursuits Center, local community resource centers and Pensacola primary grades schools. During the day camps, students can receive kayak, archery and fishing instruction.
Contact your local community resource center or school to determine participation and eligibility.
Prince and Princess Dance Camp
Dates: June 3-7
Location: Gull Point Resource Center, 7000 Spanish Trail
Hours: 9 a.m. - noon
Ages: 4-10
Cost: $70 for city residents and $80 for non-city residents
The Prince and Princess Dance Camp is part of a series of similar weeklong camps where children will learn various dances, create crafts and costumes and perform a mini recital. This camp will focus on all things royalty.
Parents should pack their kids a snack and water bottle each day. Participants must be potty trained, no disposable training pants.

Fairytales, Unicorns and Dragons Dance Camp
Dates: June 10-14
Location: Gull Point Resource Center, 7000 Spanish Trail
Hours: 9 a.m. - noon
Ages: 4-10
Cost: $70 for city residents and $80 for non-city residents
The Fairytales, Unicorns and Dragons Dance Camp will bring your children's imaginations to life as they learn dances, create crafts and costumes and perform a mini recital.
Parents should pack their kids a snack and water bottle each day. Participants must be potty trained, no disposable training pants.

Mermaids and Pirates Dance Camp
Dates: July 8-12
Location: Gull Point Resource Center, 7000 Spanish Trail
Hours: 9 a.m. - noon
Ages: 4-10
Cost: $70 for city residents and $80 for non-city residents
Swashbucklers and mermaids should get ready for a week of high-seas excitement and entertainment at the Mermaids and Pirates Dance Camp. The weeklong camp will teach kids dances, how to make sea-themed crafts and costumes and will culminate in a mini recital.
Parents should pack their kids a snack and water bottle each day. Participants must be potty trained, no disposable training pants.

Barbie and Ken Dance Camp
Dates: July 22-26
Location: Gull Point Resource Center, 7000 Spanish Trail
Hours: 9 a.m. - noon
Ages: 4-10
Cost: $70 for city residents and $80 for non-city residents
With a sprinkle of glamour and a dash of fun, join the magical world of Barbie and Ken Dance Camp this summer. Campers will learn new dances, make themed crafts and costumes and end with a mini recital on the last day of camp.
Parents should pack their kids a snack and water bottle each day. Participants must be potty trained, no disposable training pants.

Beginning Fishing Camp
Dates: May 28-31
Location: Bayview Community Resource Center, 2001 E. Lloyd St.
Hours: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Ages: 8-14
Cost: $140 for city residents and $150 for non-city residents
The Beginning Fishing Camp is the perfect place to teach early anglers how to fish, identify species and enjoy the great outdoors. Each participant will receive a tackle box and fishing pole at the end of camp. Click the link to learn more.
Kayaking / SUP Camp
Dates: June 3-7
Location: Bayview Community Resource Center, 2001 E. Lloyd St.
Hours: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Ages: 9-16
Cost: $160 for city residents and $170 for non-city residents
The Kayaking / SUP camp (stand-up paddleboard) will teach kids all the fundamentals they need to head out into open water. Participates will enjoy a trip to the river on June 6. Click the link to learn more.
Advanced Fishing Camp
Dates: June 17-21, 24-28
Location: Bayview Community Resource Center, 2001 E. Lloyd St.
Hours: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Ages: $275 for city residents and $295 for non-city residents
Cost: 9-16
If your child already knows how to fish but wants to take the next step then the Advanced Fishing Camp is the perfect opportunity. Campers will learn the best local fishing spots and enjoy a charter boat on the Thursday of each respective week. Click the link to learn more.
Outdoor Adventure Camp
Dates: June 10-14, July 8-12, 15-19 and 22-26
Location: Bayview Community Resource Center, 2001 E. Lloyd St.
Hours: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Ages: 9-16
Cost: $160 for city residents and $170 for non-city residents
The Outdoor Adventure Camp will teach your child all the skills they need to enjoy the outdoors. They will have fun learning about kayaking, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, archery and environmental stewardship. Click the link to learn more.
Challenger International Soccer Camp
Dates: June 3-7, July 15-19
Location: Roger Scott Athletic Complex, 2130 Summit Blvd.
Hours: 8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. for ages 3-5, 9 a.m. - noon for ages 6-14
Ages: 3-14
Cost: $120 for ages 3-5, $195 for half days during week 1 and $205 for half days during week 2

Chip Boes Championship Basketball Camp
Dates: Jun 3-7, 17-21, July 15-19

Hours: 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

The Chip Boes Championship Basketball Camp is a five-day clinic with a strong emphasis on individual skill development led by highly successful former high school and college coach and five-time "Coach of the Year" award winner Chip Boes. Each camper participant will receive a basketball and a camp shirt. Participants will enjoy an ice cream party, group and individual competitions, league and tournament play, and more!

Girls Volleyball Camp
Dates: June 10-14, July 8-12
Location: Bear Levin Studer Family YMCA, 165 E. Intendencia St.
Hours: 9 a.m. - noon

Galactic Child Yoga Camp
Dates: June 10-14, July 8-12
Location: East Pensacola Heights Clubhouse, 3208 E. Gonzalez St.
Hours: 9:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Ages: 4-10
Cost: $150 for city residents and $160 for non-city residents
Enjoy a magical week of yoga, art and the elements. This camp will connect students with the elements of earth, water, fire, air and the stars through creative activities, physical movement and mindful artistic experiences.
Get excited to create art, practice element-inspired yoga postures, and get to know elements in playful ways using all the senses (smell, sight, touch, taste, intuition, and sound).
This camp inspires kids to increase their flexibility and strength, improve their self-esteem and self-awareness, and encourage creativity and cooperation.
Cost includes materials for engaging games and art projects. Please bring a yoga mat, water and a healthy snack each day.
