After a week of stories about Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle allegedly having tension and "feuding", the royal family has had enough. Buckingham Palace, in an exceptionally rare move, has commented on a new story from The Sun alleging that Kate "slapped down" Meghan and told her "not to berate" members of Kate's team at Kensington Palace. "This never happened," the Palace told The Mirror.

Here's the false claim: The Sun's Dan Wootton wrote that multiple sources told him the Kate-Meghan incident happened before Meghan's wedding. One "royal" source said that Kate told Meghan during the slap down “that’s unacceptable, they’re my staff and I speak to them.” Kate and Meghan's relationship suffered after, the source said. "Her and Kate fell out when she b******ed Kate’s staff."

The Palace's denial comes hours after Vanity Fair reported that Meghan believes the British press is conducting a bit of a smear campaign against her. “She feels to a degree the British press is out to get her and while she’s aware of the news and what’s going on, she tries her best not to read all the stories about her," a source told Vanity Fair's royal correspondent Katie Nicholl.

Meghan has said before that she does not read news stories about her, generally. Meghan told Vanity Fair last fall that “I don’t read any press. I haven’t even read press for Suits. The people who are close to me anchor me in knowing who I am. The rest is noise.”
