The One Thing Your Wedding Guests Definitely Do *Not* Care About
When it’s your wedding, you want every little detail—from the Chantilly lace on your vintage veil to the prickly cacti on your wedding cake (hey, succulent cakes are in)—to be perfect.
But real talk? You’re just one couple. And you’ve got a lot to do. So we were kinda relieved to learn that Wedding Wire’s recent Wedding Guest Survey found that while your friends and family will definitely be paying attention to your dress (we mean, how could they not?), they will barely notice—drumroll, please—the escort cards.
According to the survey, 64 percent of guests pay most attention to the food; 42 percent pay most attention to the bride’s entrance; and 39 percent pay most attention to the couple’s vows. Those escort cards, though? Only a meager 2 percent of your guests will really appreciate them (your mom included).
So, if you were about to drop a big hunk of your wedding budget on hand-drawn gold leaf calligraphy or, worse, planning an all-nighter to teach yourself how to DIY it, you might want to reconsider. Instead, allocate those funds toward something you care about much more, like that succulent cake.
