One of Ellen's Former Producers Has Spoken Out and Called Her a "Toxic Host"
A former producer on The Ellen Degeneres Show has said she was a "toxic host."
Former employees on Ellen's show have come forward about bullying, racism, and sexual harassment from executive producers on set.
Producers on The Ellen Degeneres Show have been accused of bullying, racism, and sexual harassment on set, prompting an internal investigation and reports that Ellen wants to quit due to feeling "betrayed." And now former producer Hedda Muskat (who worked on the show from 2003-2004) is speaking out about her experience with what she described as a "culture of fear."
“I had never seen this before,” Hedda told The Wrap (via Us Weekly). “I had never been around a toxic host.”
She also recounted an alleged incident where executive producer Ed Glavin screamed at a crew member during a staff meeting. Apparently, Hedda waited for Ellen to say something but she just "giggled."
“She crossed her legs up on the chair and she said, ‘Well, I guess every production needs their dog.' And from then we knew. Ed was going to be the barking dog — her dog. You could just see everybody’s faces go stiff. We’re professionals; we’re adults. We don’t need a dog to get us to do our jobs. … She was the only one giggling.”
As backlash against The Ellen DeGeneres Show has increased, Ellen's wife Portia de Rossi has come forward in her defense, posting "I Stand By Ellen" to Instagram with the caption "To all our fans....we see you. Thank you for your support." She also added an array of hashtags including #stopbotattacks.

Ellen hasn't directly addressed reports that she wants to step down from her show, but apparently James Corden could be in line to replace her.
