You Can Now Buy A Smart Toilet With Built-In Speakers And Lighting
At CES 2019, Kohler revealed their newest smart home products: a full suite of smart bathroom products from voice-controlled lighted mirrors to an Alexa-enabled toilet with ambient lighting and built-in speakers. Yes, really.
The reveal included Kohler's new Veil Lighted Bathroom Collection, which includes a freestanding bath, an intelligent toilet, a lighted mirror, and a lighted 3-piece vanity-all of which work together with integrated lighting, according to a press release. You can synchronize and automate the lights to set different moods or even mimic natural light, and personalize your lighting scheme however you'd like. The collection can be voice and motion-controlled, as well as controlled via the KOHLER Konnect app or with a physical remote.
Alongside the Veil collection, Kohler announced the release of their Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror and the Numi 2.0 Intelligent Toilet. The mirror comes in three sizes, each with customizable LED lights (hello, perfect makeup lighting!) and built-in speakers, as well as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice control compatibility. And the Numi 2.0 might just be the most fascinating announcement...after all, what does a smart toilet even do?
The Numi has a lot of cool qualities: for one, it's all about water efficiency. It also offers a heated seat (of course), personalized cleansing and drying functions, and built-in speakers. Plus, it features dynamic, interactive multi-color ambient and surround lighting, along with Alexa compatibility with voice control.
Kohler also revealed updates to the smart home products they showcased last year at CES 2018, all of which will be available this year. Those updates include the DTV+ Shower System, PureWarmth Heated Toilet Seat, and the brand's PerfectFill Technology bath filler.
The DTV+ Shower System was made to turn your shower into a custom spa, with settings to change sound, water, steam, and lighting-all of which can be controlled by your voice or through a wall-mounted interface. (Oh, and if you already have the system, you can upgrade to the newest edition by installing a bridge module, according to Kohler.)
PerfectFill, on the other hand, is all about creating your ideal bath experience, as it can fill your tub with your preferred depth and temperature with just your voice or via the Konnect app as well. You can purchase it as a wall-mount or deck-mount spout, or as a freestanding bath filler that includes a valve, drain, and controller. And the PureWarmth toilet seat pairs with the Konnect app to let you adjust the heat to three different settings and control a handy night light.
The Verdera Voice mirror (in all three sizes) and the PureWarmth toilet seat are both currently available online at Kohler, but you'll have to wait for the rest of the product lineup.
