No One Looks Happier Sitting in the Rain Than Queen Elizabeth at a Horse Show
Queen Elizabeth has had quite a busy week, what with welcoming a new great-grandchild (her eighth) into the family. But her introduction to the latest royal, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's baby boy, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, wasn't the only thing on her mind on Wednesday. In fact, before she went to meet her grandson's first child at Windsor Castle, Her Majesty had another event on her agenda that she simply wouldn't miss: the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
The queen is a famously avid equestrian and continues to ride, even at the age of 93. (Though she does admit to being "rather a fair-weather rider now.") The annual RWHS, held not far from Windsor Castle, is rumored to be one of the queen's favorite equestrian events of the year, and according to the Daily Mail, she's believed to have attended every year since the show's inception 76 years ago.
With a record like that, a little spring shower was hardly going to keep Her Majesty away. Instead, the queen donned a pair of wellies, a hooded olive raincoat, and one of her signature silk headscarves and headed out to watch the events and chat with fellow equine fans. And while we have no idea what her exact opinions of the horses on show might have been, it's fair to say that she had some strong reactions. Take a look at a few of our favorite photos below:
