Nick Carter Shares Childhood Footage for New Single Dedicated to Late Brother Aaron
His new song, "Hurts to Love You," is now streaming.
Nick Carter is paying tribute to his late brother, Aaron Carter, in the only way he knows how: through song.
The 42-year-old singer released a new single honoring his brother, who died unexpectedly on Nov. 5, 2022 at age 34.
Carter took to Instagram to share the ballad titled "Hurts to Love You," which was accompanied by footage of him and Aaron from when they were children.
The clip featured an emotional Nick as various home videos of the two siblings were projected onto him, and the song's lyrics, "It hurts to love you, but I love you still," were humming in the background.
"We all have someone in our lives that no matter what they do and how bad it hurts you still love them," The Backstreet Boys member wrote in the caption, adding, "So I worked it out the best way I know how. #HurtsToLoveYou."

"This song is so breathtaking.. meaningful.. beautiful.. powerful! ??," another fan added.
Aaron's cause of death has yet to be revealed, but at the time, a spokesperson from the Los Angeles Police Department announced that a "suspicious" death occurred at his residence in Lancaster, California.
One day after Aaron's passing, Nick jumped on stage with his fellow band members to honor the late singer. The emotional tribute began during the song "No Place" as pictures of the band's family members appeared on the screen behind them. Nearing the song's end, the screen went black and showed photos of Nick and Aaron, ending with an image of Aaron with text that read: “Aaron Carter 1987-2022.”
Nick also shared photos on Instagram a few weeks later, opening up about jumping back into his work while still grief-stricken.
"It’s never easy to jump right back in. But I’m grateful to be able to have the chance to do something so special that can hopefully bring love and joy to peoples [sic] lives," he wrote.
"Hurts to Love You" is currently streaming on all major music platforms.
