Netflix has swung the axe on five shows following the SAG-AFTRA strikes, including the popular Shadow and Bone, Glamorous, and three adult animated shows.
According to a report by Deadline, show costs, concerns over Netflix’s financials, and the lack of momentum have all been factors in the cancellations.

Shadow and Bone had reached two seasons on Netflix, with the streaming giant revealing that Season 2 had reached 55 million viewers in its first 28 days.
Glamorous and the three animated shows - Agent Elvis, Farzar and Captain Fall - had only aired one season each, with the delay of follow up content due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes cited as one of the reasons for cancellation. Captain Fall only aired 10 of its planned 20 episodes.
“I’m heartbroken and deeply disappointed, but I’m also trying to hold on to my very real gratitude,” said Leigh Bardugo, author of the books that Shadow and Bone was based on.
New director of adult animation Bill Wee is taking over that strand of content at Netflix, and all three axed animated shows were commissioned before the new appointment, according to Deadline.
There are plenty of shows Netflix has commissioned for more seasons, including the live-action version of One Piece, which has become a runaway success.
