How much would you pay for a local NJ product? Here's what one survey said
Whether it's because we have a penchant for the underdog or we just really love pork roll (or is it Taylor ham?), it's no secret that New Jerseyans have Jersey pride.
And apparently, they're willing to pay for it through more than just their tax bill.
A HostingAdvice study that polled 3,000 people found that New Jerseyans were willing to pay a whopping 22 percent more for products with a "Made in New Jersey" label.
Conversely, our neighbors in New York were only willing to pay 8 percent more for items made in New York.

The study also revealed that Hawaii residents were willing to pay the highest premium than any other Americans — 35% — for products made in the Aloha State, perhaps because they're already used to paying high prices for imported goods.
It's not just their states that Americans are loyal to. Ninety percent of survey responders said they trust the quality of American products over imported ones, and 72 percent would choose a more expensive American product over a similar international one.
Here's what customers are most willing to pay a local premium for, in order of preference:
Health and beauty products
Clothing
Cars and car parts
Electronics
Home appliances
Furniture and home decor
Food and beverages
Sporting goods and outdoor equipment
Children's toys and clothing
Jewelry and accessories
Construction materials
