Kellyanne Conway Is One of the Highest-Paid White House Staffers

Kellyanne Conway is one of the highest-paid staffers in the White House. but this week she announced that she's leaving her post.

"I will be transitioning from the White House at the end of this month," she wrote in a statement, alluding that the change, at least in part, stems from her relationship with her 15-year-old daughter Claudia, who recently shared on Twitter that she was "pushing for emancipation."

"This is completely my choice and my voice," wrote Kellyanne. "In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama."

Her husband, George Conway, is also stepping back from his position with the Lincoln Project. "George is also making changes," reads Kellyanne's statement

Conway and her husband George, who are both attorneys, disclosed assets of between $10 million and $39.3 million at the beginning of Trump's term.

Now, the counselor to the president and former Trump campaign manager makes $183,000, according to an official White House personnel report. She was one of only 22 staffers to earn that much, an amount that is second only to the president's $400,000 salary (which Trump is donating to charity).

Her 2017 financial disclosure form shows that she made a lot more in the private sector, though: she earned $800,726 alone from her consulting company, Polling Company/Woman Trend, in 2016. Conway valued the business at between $1 and $5 million. Her other assets at the time of the filing included one money market fund with a value of $1 to $5 million, and another worth $5 to $25 million, along with a checking account of at least $500,000.
