A Morning Wedding With A Doughnut Brunch
From the Bride... We liked the idea of having a morning ceremony and hosting a brunch reception afterwards not only because we love brunch food and mimosas, but because it would allow us to spend all day with our friends and family. It was the perfect decision for us, and the Four Seasons did an amazing job with all the food. Robert loves Voodoo Doughnuts, so we thought they’d be perfect for dessert displayed on a doughnut wall. It turned out to be a great conversation starter – everyone loved talking about the doughnuts and deciding which one they were going to pick! We also enjoyed the giant powdered sugar doughnut they made as our wedding cake. See more of Jenna McElroy's gorg photos in the FULL GALLERY.
From the bride, Jessica-- When Robert and I started planning our wedding, we quickly decided that we wanted it to be an intimate event, with just our closest friends and family present. We live about five hours away from Austin and I wanted to plan the wedding myself, so it was great not having to worry about planning a large-scale event from afar. We also really wanted the day to be as stress-free and fun as possible, with a focus on quality time with each other and all our guests. The Four Seasons Hotel in Austin was an easy choice for our venue. Not only is it beautiful, it holds fond memories for me as my family would visit for special occasions while I was growing up. The back lawn is so picturesque, especially with Lady Bird Lake in the background. We were so fortunate to have perfect weather for our November wedding day so we could take advantage of the outdoor space. Our florist, Mercedez of the Heirloom Table, did such an amazing job on the ceremony site with our floral-wrapped trees. I absolutely loved all of the blush and white flowers that she used, and it was exactly what I had envisioned. We had originally planned to do a first look, but Robert and I ended up just getting ready together, and we really enjoyed spending that time together before the ceremony. Our photographer, Jenna McElroy did such a great job of capturing everything and we love looking back at the pictures and reliving the day. I also love that we were able to get every wedding guest in one photo for a great keepsake! I really wanted our wedding day to be a simple and beautiful celebration and we definitely achieved that with the help of our vendors, who did such a great job and really allowed us to enjoy the day stress-free.
